Oba’s Story

Oba Iman Art & Design Gallery| NYC

The Journey & What I Kept Hidden

It began at age five with a box of crayons in my childhood home’s hallways, where I scribbled my emotions on the walls. For 39 years, I kept my gift hidden, drawing in the shadows while navigating the business world. In that time, my imagination archived the soul of New York City, forming a private world of texture, creativity, and imagination, ready to be released.

The Revealing

In 2019, I lost my mother. In 2021, I lost my brother. These losses did not change who I was; they changed how I expressed what was already inside me. I moved from the physical page to the digital canvas—using my fingers to translate my subconscious into a new reality.

The Unwritten Symphony

With a Business Certificate filed on March 26, 2023, and a formal launch on May 16, this gallery marks a milestone in my journey. My work is evidence of a lifetime’s transition: from loss to legacy, and from silence to symphony.

I don’t want to leave this world without it knowing I have always been an artist. I live it.

The Process: Hand-Drawn Digital

I am a hand-drawn digital and mixed-media artist. I use my eyes, mind, heart, and fingers to create—blending raw Sharpie and pencil sketches with the digital world, sometimes adding hand-painted elements to produce textured, one-of-one originals you can see and feel.

The Brand Narrative

My work is built on discipline, guided by craft, and driven by passion; it is my purpose—an evolving bridge between the depth of my life and the shared history of our world."

Oba Iman Art & Design Gallery transforms uninspired spaces through the lens of pure imagination. I bridge the gap between digital innovation and physical craftsmanship. My work is a visual language born from the subconscious—captured through the intuitive movement of fingers on a screen and refined with hand-painted textures.

I bring internal visions into the physical world so that you feel alive, inspired, and empowered to share your own story. This is art for a new generation: where technology meets the soul.

The Legacy

These pieces are meant to be more than objects of view; they are stories to step into and carry with you. They are made to be felt today and passed on tomorrow. More than that, they are invitations—to awaken the spark of creativity and imagination that already lives within you.

One day I won’t be here, but I hope what remains is not just what I created, but what it helped you continue creating long after it enters your home.
