Oba Iman Debuts Mixed - Media Masterpiece in "The World's Borough" Exhibition Queens, NY - Artist Oba Iman has officially unveiled her latest work, Tell Me About Queens, featured in the celebrated The World's Borough exhibition at Flushing Town Hall.
The piece marks a milestone for Iman, serving as the official debut of her unique process: a custom, freestyle hand-drawn digital artwork finished with physical paint,
Born from a month-long distance between the artist's eye, mind, heart, and fingers, Tell Me About Queens quicky became a focal point of the exhibition, earning features in magazines. For Iman, delivering the work was a mission of love. She hand-carried her signature 36 x 36 canvas herself through the MTA, taking the Q train to 42nd Street, transferring to the 7, and riding it to the very end of the line to drop it off in Flushing.
As the exhibition draws crowds from all over the city, Iman offers a profound thank you to the art lovers who made that very same commute to experience the work in person.
"I spent an hour commuting to Flushing Town Hall with a canvas in my arms, so I know exactly what that journey was like for you. You made every mile worth it."
Looking ahead, Iman is ready to bring her signature canvas to new spaces. Yet, after all those miles, the central question of her work remains an open invitation to the city: " I Still want to know more... Tell Me About Queens."
